About
Life after death: over two years since being put on indefinite hiatus (so ominous and important-sounding) Hell’s Corners is back.
Let’s talk about what it was, first — Hell’s Corners was a webcomic that showed up in 2004 and was never intended to be read or followed like a webcomic — it was intended to be read book by book like a conventional print comic (and if you buy some old copies through ComiXpress you can even experience the pain and pleasure of papercuts and cheap stock). Posting it started as a means to artificially impose deadlines so I’d get it done and to have something to show visitors to my site besides. Somewhere along the way I rebelled against my pretend deadlines, though, and got even more lax about updating, until finally distraction with other projects, etc., put a seemingly permanent end to the comic in 2007.
Fast-forward to 2009, and the comic now. I got nostalgic, okay? I had so much time invested in this bastard I got to missing it; one or two of its five original fans would say “Hey how’s it going bitch; why don’t you stop noodling around with that Next Town Over horseshit and get back to Hell’s Corners, which was funnier?!” and I would be like Man. That is harsh because it is true. Then one day I said “Well, I’ll do both. But Hell’s Corners’ art is gonna suffer.” And so now we’ve got this. Scribbly. Back in B/W. But goddamn if I can’t churn it out faster.
And as ever, Hell’s Corners is not recommended for kids or Christian Conservatives. Or anyone, really.
